Wades Excelent Adventure

The weekend came around and it was time for me to embark on a ride with a difference for several reasons.

First being I have never ridden at Frome Mtn and second I was taking part in Wade Symond's race. The race was focusing on a fun ride doing multiple loops of Frome Mtn exquisite terrain in teams of 2 - 10 with 60% of your team on the course at all times. The rest of the race is straightforward; take you knee pads, balls the size of oranges, kodak courage and toilet paper for when you shit your self. Some will choose to sample some of Canada's forest shrubs to totally chill you out. (if you know what I mean....)

We had a pit stop at Tim Horton's to sample some amazing junk food so we would be ready for the days' adventures.

After ordering and getting nowhere near what we wanted I was packing up the rubbish then Shane asked me " have you seen my doughnut'? With a look of woops on my face and Shane's attitude to eat whatever, the doughnut was put back together and destroyed in seconds

The weather was forecast 17 warm and sunny. I call Bullshit on that one!!

Everyone we spoke to wanted to ride up the hill on their bikes, no one wanted to jump in the truck and take free ride no TIP needed. Once we started to move in the van, the sledging began and soon enough I was getting people to drop like flieys and take the bus to the top.

The tent set up from the Rocky guys. If you want to do something, do it right or not at all!

The WEAPON of choice for a lot of riders in the race on the shore and Canada in general. Once you ride in Canada, you will see why this bike has a special place to do nothing but make you grin from ear to ear! It will take anything you throw at it, even a beer bong. The bike will change the way you ride and most importantly you will ride a trail smoother and faster than ever before.
Send Simon at Adventure Brands a msg and he will be able to point you in the right direction of your local dealer where you can get a simply amazing bike.

Empty chairs can only mean one thing. Gone Riding!

Map of Frome. Note: The amount of single and double Black diamond runs!

One part of the trail that I was able to stop on for a quick pic. The terrain here is like no other riding in the world. You must be on your A game to ride here because it takes no prisoners in its relentless hammering of your bike. Riding something for the 1st time is one thing, riding Frome for the 1st time is a new ball game in itself.

Broken shifter after a root decided to jump up into my spokes and pile drive me into the ground on the final descent.

Dylan Wolsky, riding for Bike Co destroyed the field in pairs with Co Rider Arthur Gaillot. They finished the race in 2:03.00 blowing the spandex wearing guys away proving that baggies can still win races.

It came to presentation time and we were all standing around waiting to cheer on the teams that one. Most times they call out last to first at presentation. This time the call 1st to mix it up, Team Sandbaggers were up not really paying any attention I thought that we came in 3rd. 10 min past and it sunk in we won our category. 45 min passed and as wade came up so say well done one of the other guys in our team said "hey guys did we actually win" silence then breaking out in a fit of laughs we said "yes".

Congratulations to the Citizen Team Winners Sandbaggers 3:14
