To the USA and back in 48hrs

Well with a 5am start the USA was calling bright and early and so was Ryan. We were heading to Ellensburg for a friend's graduation party and to shred some trail that they have on offer.

I have never been down there so had no idea what to expect on the drive down and also the riding!

We got to the border in a cracking time until we rounded the customs building and we saw that every man and his dog decided to cross the border at the same time as us. It was feet out the window, seat back, and listen to all the Americans keep their cars running next to the sign that said "please care for the environment and turn your car off".

45min passed and we were through the border and bound for the outlets for a quick shopping spree.

Man shopping time and I went into the Vans store making an A Line to the counter I told the guy "I have a big foot, like this style of shoe and need 2 pairs". BAM 10 min later I was out of the store and we were heading back to the car with 2 new pairs of shoes and getting the last 3 hrs of the drive done!

One of the avalanche bridges you go through, sucks if you are on the other side of the road!

Guess that it gets rather windy over this side of the border!

Mckenzie and I starting out on the secret trail and loop that John had never linked together. Rest of the guys are trying to get a head start on us.

Shortly after the easy fir road climb we hit the mother of all climbs.

It was a rutted out fire road that had loose rocks, prickle bushes, pot holes, with a gradient so steep if you were in a granny and sat back too much on your seat you'd lift the front.

4 tries later and getting the anger to an all time high, the beast was tamed and the top of the hill felt amazing. There were no trees anywhere near us then as we rounded a bend, right in front of my eyes was bush so thick that you couldn't see 2 ft in front of you. It lasted for about 1min then we were out the other side.

The open planes as far as the eye can see.

The descent down was well worth the climb up. We were blessed with buff single track that was smoother and buffer than a car after a wax and polish. It was to hard to resist opening it up and getting loose down the tight hair pin turns.

Best use for 29 wheels yet, makes for a great paddle boat.

The view on the way home. Say No More!!!
